Muscongus Bay Aquaculture comprises a hatchery, nursery, and farming operation that reliably supply high quality oysters to farmers and consumers alike. Their oysters spawn in the hatchery, grow in their FLUPSY (floating upweller system) and nursery sites, and are finished on the bottom of the Damariscotta River to give them their characteristic thick shell, deep cup, and dense texture. Muscongus operates Maine’s oldest oyster farm, Dodge Cove Marine Farm, and their hard working team takes pride in delivering the quality product Maine is famous for. Muscongus Bay oysters are characterized by a deliciously light, citrus flavor with restrained brine and a sweet clean finish.
